Our Land

A Landscape Shaped by Nature
Our retreat is surrounded by:
- thriving fruit forests
- permaculture gardens
- native plant life
- wildlife moving freely through the land
- clear, spring-fed creek water
- mountain views shifting with the light
Every path, structure, and space has been designed to blend into the land rather than dominate it. We allow the environment to lead, and we shape our retreat around what nature naturally offers.
The Fruit Forest – Over 350 Trees and Growing
One of the most unique features of Mt Jukes Eco Retreat is our expanding fruit forest, home to over 350 organic fruit trees across more than 50 varieties.
Here you’ll find, just to name a few:
- mango, guava, grapefruit, and banana
- noni, mulberry, longan, jaboticaba
- passionfruit vines, citrus groves, and exotic varieties from around the world
This organic orchard is an evolving project — a living, breathing ecosystem designed to feed guests, wildlife, and eventually our wider community.
As the forest grows, so does our commitment to sharing surplus produce with local community organisations supporting those in need.

Off-Grid Living – Powered by the Sun, Supported by the Earth
Mt Jukes Eco Retreat is fully off-grid, supported by sustainable systems that allow us to live lightly and responsibly.
Our off-grid infrastructure includes:
- solar power
- battery storage
- rainwater harvesting
- spring-fed creek water
- eco-friendly waste practices
- energy-conscious design across all accommodation
We aim to model a slower, simpler way of living — one where comfort and sustainability work together harmoniously.
Respecting and Protecting Country
We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of this land and honour their enduring connection to Country — its stories, its water, its seasons, and its spirit.
Our intention is to care for the land with humility, gratitude, and awareness.
By living lightly, planting generously, and protecting the natural environment, we hope to contribute to the ongoing story of this place with respect and sincerity.

Our Land – Living Lightly on Country
A landscape shaped by nature, sustained with respect, and shared with care.
Honouring the Land We Call Home
Mt Jukes Eco Retreat sits at the foothills of Mt Jukes, embraced by forest, native bushland, and spring-fed creek water. This land is more than a backdrop to our retreat — it is the heart of everything we do.
We honour the natural environment by living gently, treading lightly, and allowing nature to guide the way we build, grow, and welcome others here.

Permaculture Principles in Action
Across the property, we follow simple, grounded permaculture practices:
- building soil health naturally
- mulching and conserving moisture
- planting for biodiversity
- allowing plants to self-seed
- integrating native species with fruit trees
- encouraging beneficial insects
- supporting the natural rhythms of the land
Our organic gardens provide fresh herbs, vegetables, fruits, and edible flowers for retreat meals — reconnecting guests to the experience of real, living food.
Spring-Fed Creek – Water That Nourishes Life
Running through the land is our clear, spring-fed creek — a natural source of beauty, calm, and renewal.
This ancient waterway:
- feeds the rock pools
- supports local wildlife
- cools the land
- offers guests a refreshing, peaceful place to swim
- symbolises the flow of nature that guides our retreat
We treat this water with deep respect, ensuring all systems onsite remain chemical-free and environmentally sound.

A Living Sanctuary for All Who Visit
The land at Mt Jukes is peaceful, grounding, and deeply nurturing.
Guests often describe it as a place where the mind quietens, the body softens, and the heart feels more open.
Whether you’re:
- walking through the orchard
- dipping into the creek
- watching the sun move across the mountain
- or simply sitting in stillness beneath the trees
this land invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect.
